Frequently asked questions on vitamins
- Aren't these all artificial
substances? Can they really be helpful?
To the body natural and artificial vitamins are all the same, as long as the molecules are identical. The only thing that counts is whether they work. And they both do! Of course it is healthier to eat a vitamin along with all the good other molecules that keep us alive - that is why we call vitamin pills supplements. More information here. The only exception is vitamin E. It is a natural mix of eight molecules and it does not work so well if we only take one of them artificially.
- Didn't some studies prove that
taking vitamins can actually increase the risk of getting cancer?
Yes, there were studies on smokers in the 1990s that showed this. But you must look carefully. The smokers just received vitamin A, but the substances in tobacco smoke damaged these molecules and made them dangerous for the body. Vitamin A must always be taken along with vitamin C. In 2004 the study was repeated, this time Vitamins A and C were given together. And the result: the risk of getting lung cancer was reduced by 68 %.

- Isn't this vitamin hype just
another way to make much money?
Check carefully who wants you to buy something. The vitamins themselves will always be helpful, but you must find out who is just after your money and you must find the best source where to get your vitamins (without sweeteners or other additives). Do you know why Big Pharma is against vitamins? They challenge their multi-billion business with many medications that would not be needed if we took enough vitamins.
