A new We
During the last years and decades a large number of communities has come into existence, where people practise a different model of living and working together. The documentary A New We presents 10 of them in eight countries.
Here are some very impressive examples:
- Findhorn Ecovillage, Scotland (over 400 people)
- Tamera village, Portugal (250 people)
- Damanhur community, Italy (over 600 people)
- Gaviotas ecovillage, Columbia (200 people)
Hundreds of ecovillages are presented on the website of the Global Ecovillage Network.
They all are very different from each other and might be viewed as
sociological, political and economic laboratories for the rest of
humankind. All have a history of many years, even decades, with
children having grown up in a different world. They practise
sustainability, community and spirituality without being separate from
the rest of the world or ideologically biased. A printed catalogue can
be ordered at Eurotopia.
These are open communities that welcome guests!
